January scans were followed by weeks of big emotions and loads of prayer! Dezirae was blessed with a running blade from an amazing organization called Amputee blade runner’s. Many rearranged their lives to make a new socket for Dezirae so she could use her blade better.

February 2 she ran and we learned that Dezirae’s left lung was completely consumed by tumor and malignant fluid. The next day her beloved oncologist died. His passing was a shock to everyone in his life and leaves a gaping hole. Our hearts break with and for his family.

The last couple months have by far been the hardest and yet drawn out family closer together. Dezi has made decisions & choices for Heaven and for her miracle of earthly healing. My nephew said it best “Dezi if you go to Heaven, Pappy is making you a really nice box!” We have snuggled and prayed. We have set days aside for friends who are family. Cousins have came and played in the snow outside the window so Dezi could watch! We have taken pictures, had a video made etc.

We have been blessed over and over again with monetary gifts, prayers from strangers, emergency prayer meetings for Dez, gift cards, mail, food and a special gift of cancer fighting tea and lots of goodies from a friend and an herb shoppe in Yellow Springs. We are grateful for every blessing and the people behind each one!

We have continued pursuing alternative treatments for Dezirae. That expense comes out of pocket. We are humbled and grateful that because of other’s generosity we have been able to continue this! Dezi did have a PICC line placed a month or so ago. She uses oxygen to help slow her breathing down and is more resentful sporting an NG tube to help her keep up on her calories and nutrition.

Monday Dezirae will start a milder chemo, that her cancer and genetics tested highly sensitive to. Our hope is that, in combination with her alternative treatments, this will send a message to stop the growth and spread of her cancer. This is very scary for all of us and we covet prayers! please praise God with us that insurance approved this nonconventional(for Osteosarcoma) treatment!

Updates take so much brain power, that seems to be absent these days. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this journey. Please continue to pray for Dezirae’s whole family!! Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, cousins, and many friends that are now family.

We love you all and thank God for you daily!
Braisen woke up this morning & one of the first things he asked was..’Have you gotten an update on Dezirae?’ Thank you for taking the time to let us know how things are. We continue to pray for Dezi & for you all..that God will hold you all close & give you strength for each day 💛 We love you guys!
