Dezirae had scans October 8th as a baseline for the anti cancer medicine. At the time she was 6 days into treatment and had been on cannabis for 3 weeks. She is only having chest CTs(a PET scan wouldn’t change our treatment plan).

The CT showed no change in the right lung tumor and no new tumors!! We praise God for that victory! Both tumors on the left had doubled in size in just 5 weeks 😦

The following weeks were a struggle. We ran out of cannabis and Dezirae lost her appetite. The good thing is, as long as she is taking the cannabis, her appetite is okay. Then the back pain from wearing an ill fitting prosthetic(the cannabis also helps greatly with this, unless of course we run out)! We were only without cannabis for 3 days and the difference was night and day.

10 days ago, Dezirae reached the point that she could barely eat do to severe mouth pain(a not so common side affect of the anti cancer drug). One week ago they stopped her medicine because of this side affect happening so soon. Her labs have remained stable!

An interesting and common side affect of the medication is turning your hair white. Dezirae was actually excited about that side affect and the roots of her hair are Snow White after just 30 days on the medication!

We have kept life as normal as possible. Grace is a necessary part of nearly every moment. Dezirae’s regimen is a full time job. We are so very thankful to each of you who have supported us financially, brought meals, helped around our home, prayed and/or sent cards! We truly could not make it through without ALL of the support!
