Here’s to a Long Update. September 3rd Dezirae had a chest CT in preparation for her lung surgery(scheduled for 9-17). We saw the results in my chart 48 hours later. That was Saturday, Sept 5….the weekend was already planned.

Dezirae and our twins celebrate birthdays in September and all three wanted to invite the same families so we combined their parties and we had the best 2 days!! Tuesday was the first that Dezirae asked about results. I was able to talk to the surgeon before sharing with Dezirae. Surgery was now even more up in the air than before.

Wednesday 9-9, Dezirae’s case was presented to Tumor Board(dozens of doctors from across the country). Thursday-One week after scans, that week felt like a lifetime. The Thoracic Surgeon called me. Dezi had just been telling me how much she loved her and that Dr Desgupta was like family. This phone call proved that to be true.

The surgeon went to bat for Dezi in a BIG way! She had our nurse care coordinator changed from a less than helpful individual to Madison’s(Dezi’s Osteosarcoma warrior friend) nurse coordinator! A sign Gods got this and very much felt like Madison is looking out for our Dezi girl 😉

We have many appointments this next week. There are some possibilities of treatments. We have HUGE decisions to make following these. The scans…..existing tumor in the right lung has nearly doubled in size. That wasn’t entirely surprising but disheartening. The rest of the scans are a jumble. Lymph nodes(indicates that cancer has become systemic), cardiophrenic, inoperable, too big and too close to the heart and diaphragm…….

Specific prayer requests…… Wisdom in making the right choices. Peace and Joy in the Journey. Resources to pursue natural treatments. Energy and mind space to meet basic and emotional needs of all of our kiddos. That above all God will be glorified Miracles!!
