Silent Storm

3 years and 10 months ago we received a surprise blessing in the form of a son! Had we known what this journey would look like, I’m afraid we would have ran the other direction 😦

A couple months ago we came to the realization that we are not able to help our son heal and grow into a “strong” Godly man in our home at this time. This week we will be taking him to a therapeutic boarding school for boys. The hope is that he will be able to heal and grow in this environment.

If you’ve met our second oldest son, you know he’s quite likable(lovable really). He’s polite, inquisitive and charming. He is also incredibly broken by the circumstances he endured during the first 12 years of his life.

We have made the incredibly difficult decision to do whatever it takes to give our beloved son every tool and opportunity to reach his fullest potential!

We will allow ourselves a minute to be angry, have grace for ourselves and each other and daily seek peace. We pray that our other children can once again feel safe in our home!

We have seen God in ALL the details!! We will miss our boy! Please pray for healing in all of us and that one day we can be a family of 11 under one roof!

  1. I’m sure this hard decision was not made quickly nor without the wise counsel of others and I am praying now that God honors your hearts of love for your son and that your son will prosper in ways you could never have imagined at the ranch. I am praying for peace to rule in your home and that the Holy Spirit with invade every corner of your house with love and joy as well.

  2. Blessings and love sent your way as you make tough decisions for your family! You will be soo blessed that you made this decision now instead of years down the road. Soo many generations will be impacted by the positive direction you are taking! May God give you strength to stand strong!

  3. So sorry you have to do this… but it is so important for your family to feel safe!! Prayers for all of you!! Which boy will be leaving? Love you sweets! A Shelly
