Good Morning

I’ve lost track of the number of surgeries this makes! As a mama walking through this I know how hard it is to update. And yet since our “family” now includes fellow warriors I know how hard it is to wait for updates! So I will do my best 😉

We both slept some last night! Her chest tube was taken off suction around midnight. She also had one of her IVs removed during the night(a little more freedom).

Dezirae has 2 small incisions on her right back and a chest tube coming out of the third. She has zero discomfort from the left armpit incision(2-3 inches) or her port placement site(right chest just below her collar bone). She has only needed 2 doses of narcotics since surgery! Lord we praise you!!

She has started using the Incentive Spirometer(IS) this morning. She is moving slowly but is able to get up to the bathroom with just my help now! She has been able to eat and drink a bit this morning as well.

I stand in awe that it’s possible we will go home today after her having a 6 hour surgery yesterday!!

My devotion from yesterday was a perfect reminder of my imperfections! I highly recommend “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young

“Stop worrying long enough to hear My voice. I speak softly to you, in the depths of your being. Your mind shuttles back and forth, hither and yon, weaving webs of anxious confusion. As My thoughts rise up within you, they become entangled in those sticky webs of worry. Thus, My voice is muffled and you hear only white noise. Ask My spirit to quiet your mind so that you can think My thoughts…..Do not be deafened by the noise of the world or that of your own thinking……Sit quietly in My Presence, letting My thoughts reprogram your thinking.” – Jesus

Deuteronomy 30:20 loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
