I’ve lost track of the number of surgeries this makes! As a mama walking through this I know how hard it is to update. And yet since our “family” now includes fellow warriors I know how hard it is to wait for updates! So I will do my best 😉

We both slept some last night! Her chest tube was taken off suction around midnight. She also had one of her IVs removed during the night(a little more freedom).

Dezirae has 2 small incisions on her right back and a chest tube coming out of the third. She has zero discomfort from the left armpit incision(2-3 inches) or her port placement site(right chest just below her collar bone). She has only needed 2 doses of narcotics since surgery! Lord we praise you!!

She has started using the Incentive Spirometer(IS) this morning. She is moving slowly but is able to get up to the bathroom with just my help now! She has been able to eat and drink a bit this morning as well.

I stand in awe that it’s possible we will go home today after her having a 6 hour surgery yesterday!!
