Dezirae’s lung tumors will be sent out for a second opinion. Her original leg tumor along with the lung tumors will be sent for additional testing to see if there are any genetic markers causing her to keep getting tumors(her doctor described this as a shot in the dark). In the case they find a genetic marker there are treatments to target these specific markers.
Less than 10% of individuals, whose original tumor responds well to chemo, have these recurrent tumors. Of course we would be in that tiny percentile!
This process will take 2-3 weeks. The plan until February 9th is to focus on healing, she will have 2 femur X-rays(this week & 2/7), a chest CT(2/8)and a follow up with her orthopedic oncologist surgeon(2/7) during that time. CT scans and Femur films will change from every 3 months to every 6 weeks.
Her Doctor is optimistic!
”She is clothed with STRENGTH and DIGNITY; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31:25
