We have been super busy the last 8 days. We’ve had some great days and some not so great ones.

Dez felt pretty good Thursday through Saturday. Sunday we all went to church but she was worn out by the time we got to church.

Monday we went for a scheduled appoinment that turned into a 10 hour day so that she could get a blood transfusion.

Tuesday and Wednesday we were in Cincinnati all day. This covered appointments for all three boys and Dezirae! The surgeon is very pleased with Dezirae’s progress and expects her to be able to put weight on her leg 4-6 weeks after chemo stops! Her bone is starting to grow around the implant!

The mouth sores are extremely painful today again! Dez is one tough girl and almost never cries or complains about anything! When she does, even her big brilothers drop everything and run! This morning she just sobbed uncontrollably from the pain of the mouth sores.

Dezirae is really good about not eating sugar to help them heal. She also eats salty snacks, honey and dairy to soothe and promote healing. We scrubbed them until they bled again this morning.

Its much like debreiding burns….you have to get rid of the old damaged tissue to help new skin grow. She is also quite tired and hasn’t been out of bed much today. We are so thankful for a whole day at home!!
