A New Journey

On August 20th Dezirae went to her doctor for left knee pain. She had been complaining for about 5 weeks, but had not had any other symptoms. We chalked it up to growing pains. 2-3 days before going to see the doctor we noticed that Dezirae’s leg was hard, kinda like a really tight muscle.

As soon as the doctor felt her leg repeatedly and looked puzzled, I was worried. We were sent to have xrays and a musculoskeletal ultrasound. I had never seen one done before, but could tell that the left leg was much different than the right. We came home and got a call from the doctor that it was bone cancer and to go straight back to the hospital. We arrived and they were waiting for us.

Three pokes for her IV, tons of bloodwork(all was normal). She was a trooper, smiled and thanked everyone! Friends came to sit with us. What a blessing!

Sunday we had a MRI of her leg and a CT of her chest. On the MRI it appears that the tumor has grown into the muscle. She also has a couple spots on one lung….they can neither confirm nor rule out cancer on her lung at this time. Dezirae had a bone biopsy this afternoon to confirm the type of cancer that we are dealing with. The results should be back between Thursday and Monday.

Tomorrow morning Dezirae will have a bone scan to check and see if IT has spread to any other areas. We will come home tomorrow(8/23).

We have had many visitors and are enjoying each one of them. Our nurses and doctors have all been amazing. We feel every prayer and feel so loved.

Please for Dezirae and us do not question God! This nasty disease is straight from hell. Fall to your knees and pray for us. Stomp your feet and scream at Satan.

LORD GOD YOU WILL BE GLORIFIED!!

  4. As I read this and the next post, my heart breaks and yet I’m inspired at the same time. Kids have such blessed attitudes and have much to teach us. May your next days be filled with peace from the Comforter. We are praying for you all. ODAATIC

  5. I feel God is already glorified through the love you are giving to Him. Through Dezirae’s attitude and kindness. Prayers will continue through this journey as you face many things ahead. God bless you!
